Great video!! I would like to follow your series on Prime but am doubtful... I have presonus speakers and received the Prime V6 free. I have worked in bandlab and Traction free before. Request you to kindly advise if can record guitar + vocals and "midi" keyboards at the same time. I have a Focusrite solo 2nd gen (2 inputs for vocals and guitar), midi is connected to PC directly. Thanks a lot for your advise

Thank you for noticing this! I noticed it years ago but never did anything about it (except fume inwardly). Your videos are a great resource and I wouldn't be surprised if they made a big difference in raising the priority of bugs etc.

Tascam is the worst amateurisg brand that offer no support. The model 24 has had like 2 uodate, its a piece of trash i sold after 1 years im glad iv sold it. Flimsy button, if you dont turn a knob a while they getball dirty and scratch like hell. Now they fix all the shortcoming of the 24, but im sure they already working in a other crappy sub standard product they will release in 2026. Hell they recycled the crappy tiny scren and recorder from the model 24 in this one... tascam all about cutting corner from profit

Very interesting. IK MixBox CS seems like a powerful add-on. Love that it includes presets and that you can Save settings. Question: If using IK Mixbox's effects (like EQ, Compression, etc.) in a live setting, then I assume you would have your physical knobs on the model 12 set to 0 or neutral. For example, Compression would be Off, EQ knobs would be set to 0, and Aux 2 on your Channel strips would be off. Is that correct?

@recordingstudio9 -- I am a novice so just trying to learn the ropes on the Model 12. Your video made me wonder if your Master Bus Compression strategy be used for live music? That is, (a) put Channels 1-8 (Live) on SUB; (b) send SUB L/R outs into Channel 9/10 L/R Inputs, (c) use 9/10's Compressor as a Master Bus Compressor/Limiter, and (d) send 9/10's output to MAIN? this video states that the 2400 does not do DAW control like the Model 12 but according to Tascam's website the new 2400 does have a DAW Controller using the Mackie Protocol.

Hello. I have another question. I hope you don't mind. I have the 12 set up as an audio interface, so when I play UA-cam, the audio is directed to PC CH1 and CH2. This configuration goes through an OWC-powered data hub. The song is 48/16. When I do this with anything lower, i.e. 44/24, it is suggested for MPCs. The 12 is connected to the OWC data hub, and audio plays through the 12's ch1 and ch2 Then, I try to go dawless with the MPC Live 2, which essentially acts as my computer. A separate powered hub connects MIDI controllers to the MPC USB B. When this happens, I lose Sound from ch1 and ch2. I now get the F error for the song. I can see the 12 as the sound device on the model 12, but no USB audio. Does UA-cam have a set rate for audio e.g. 48/24 Can I keep the Live as the "computer" and have the Mac audio play through CH1 and Ch2 without Fs error? Very complicated (for me). Thank you. John

Hello recently buy a mackie onyx 400f and i have any problems with the drivers for windows 7 in two diferents pc with the same firewire card pci express, compatible with windows 7. Download the version 4.6 and the console message i have is hardware incompatible.

A master bus compressor would be great! Something else I'd like, although not related to this video, would be the ability to manually adjust the start/end times for vamping via the jog dial.

Thanks for for the Tascam Model 2400 preview. I have my eye on it in the event I decide to upgrade from the model 12. Can't wait for the reviews to start coming out. Totally agree about the Tascam Model compressor recommendation. Also wish I had the ability to reverse the phase of a channel during MTR mixdown. Seems you can only inverse the phase during the initial tracking/recording, but not during your 2 track mixdown. A lot of times I can't determine whether the phase needs to be inverted unti I'm ready to mix down. Also, wish I had the ability to use the Inserts when going from PC to Tascam Model 12 or during the 2 track mix down. Again, the inserts seems to only be available only when tracking on the Model 12.

Am I the only one thinking this is just an incremental upgrade at twice the price? Plus, I'm convinced there'll be no more updates for the Model 12, it's just too old now, but I'm still in love with mine. Come the deals at Christmas, there just might be a few of the Model 24 available at a super attractive price. Great review of the specs, so many thanks.
